Greek Gods
For me the ancient Greeks are the bridge between the ancient and modern worlds. Our Gods represent archetypes and work on two levels. They manifest within and we project ourselves onto them as external phenomena.
The Eleusinian Mysteries predate the Greek Dark Ages.
They were intended to elevate man above the human sphere into the divine and assure redemption by making him a god and bestowing immortality upon him.
